FDD vs TDD
FDD bands pair a downlink frequency with a separate uplink frequency, both active at the same time. TDD bands share one frequency, splitting uplink and downlink into time slots. The duplex mode affects device RF front-end design and is shown for every match.
Uplink vs downlink
A frequency near the top of a band's downlink range will not usually match its uplink range, and vice versa. This tool checks both ranges independently for every band, so an uplink-only frequency will not be mislabeled as downlink.
Why frequencies may overlap between bands
Band numbers are regulatory constructs, not physical boundaries. The same slice of spectrum can be assigned different band numbers in different countries, or a wider band can fully contain a narrower one (Band 5's 824-894 MHz range, for instance, overlaps Band 26's wider 814-894 MHz range). Always cross-check with local frequency allocation before assuming a single band.

1800 MHz downlink falls in LTE Band 3 (1805-1880 MHz downlink, 1710-1785 MHz uplink), the primary DCS 1800 capacity band used across Europe, Asia and Africa.
What LTE band is 800 MHz?
800 MHz downlink is commonly Band 20 (791-821 MHz, the EU Digital Dividend band) or Band 5/26 (850 MHz cellular band) depending on the exact frequency and region, always verify with the exact MHz value.
What is FDD vs TDD?
FDD (Frequency Division Duplex) uses separate frequencies for uplink and downlink, transmitted simultaneously. TDD (Time Division Duplex) uses one frequency for both directions, alternating in time. LTE bands 1-32 are mostly FDD, bands 33-46 are mostly TDD.
Can one frequency belong to multiple LTE bands?
Yes. Band definitions can overlap, for example Band 12, 13, 14 and 17 all sit inside the US 700 MHz range with overlapping sub-blocks. This tool lists every matching band instead of assuming one.
Why do frequencies overlap between bands?
Regulators often carve several band numbers out of the same physical spectrum for different regions or historical allocations (public safety vs commercial, for instance). The band number matters for device RF hardware support, not just the raw frequency.
