What RSRP is

RSRP (Reference Signal Received Power) measures the raw power of the LTE/5G reference signal at the device, in dBm. It reflects coverage strength: how loud the signal is, on its own, without accounting for interference or how busy the cell is.

What RSRQ is

RSRQ (Reference Signal Received Quality) compares received signal power against total received power, including interference and noise, in dB. It tells you how usable a signal is, so RSRQ can be poor even with strong RSRP if the cell is congested or overlapping with neighbors on the same frequency.

What SINR is

SINR (Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio) measures wanted signal against interference and noise, in dB. Higher SINR generally unlocks higher-order modulation and faster throughput; low SINR caps achievable speed even on a strong raw signal.

Reading the ratings

The bands used here (Excellent/Good/Fair/Poor) are common field-engineering rule-of-thumb ranges used across network monitoring tools, not an official fixed numeric standard. Real acceptable thresholds vary by chipset, vendor and use case. The overall rating shown always follows the weakest of the entered metrics, since one bad metric (usually SINR under interference) can dominate the real user experience even when the others look fine.

What is RSRP?

What is a good RSRP value?

As a common field reference: RSRP above -80 dBm is considered excellent, -80 to -90 dBm good, -90 to -100 dBm fair, -100 to -110 dBm poor, and below -110 dBm effectively no usable signal. These are practical rule-of-thumb ranges, not a fixed regulatory standard, and can vary by device and vendor.

Why is my RSRP good but my speed is slow?

Strong RSRP only means the signal is loud, it says nothing about interference or congestion. Low RSRQ or SINR alongside good RSRP usually points to interference, cell overlap, or many users sharing the same cell, which limits throughput even with a strong raw signal.
