FIELD WORKFLOWS

Three moments when a phone is enough to start the diagnosis.

GSM Drive Test gives you the radio context before you open a laptop or call another team. These are practical starting points, not a replacement for operator procedures.

01

Coverage check

A subscriber reports weak coverage at one location.

Walk or drive the route and look at the change in radio measurements, serving cell and position. A repeatable weak area gives you a useful first record before deciding whether to review coverage, obstruction or neighbour behaviour.

Useful output: a location-aware trace to attach to the field report.

02

Quality diagnosis

Signal looks strong, but calls still sound bad.

Compare signal level and quality over the same route. Strong power with poor quality is a signal to investigate interference, sector overlap or the local RF environment rather than simply adding coverage.

Useful output: evidence that separates a power problem from a quality problem.

03

Site visit record

You need a consistent record before and after an intervention.

Use the same route, handset and logging settings for both passes. Export the measurements and keep the route context with the visit notes, so the team has something concrete to compare after an antenna, parameter or maintenance change.

Useful output: a repeatable baseline for validation.
